For years the common assumption was that electromagnetic fields [EMF] and electromagnetic radiation [EMR] were not harmful, even though troubling science has been cropping up for decades. However, international government regulations regarding EMF's only protect against heating of tissue from short term exposure. They don't protect against health problems due to long term, non-thermal exposure. Unfortunately, the regulations are based on outdated science and primarily formulated from industry-funded studies.
The courts are now starting to find for the plaintifs in cases of non-thermal EMR injuries. Two Workers' Compensation claims were successful in California, again for non-thermal effects. There are currently seven class action lawsuits against the wireless industry in the United States.
