Milt is a public speaker, author, consultant, public advocate and activist, media
resource, and former radio talk show host. For more than three decades, Milt has been a technology consultant and information technology solution provider for Fortune 500 companies, other corporations,
and all levels of government.
He first became personally involved in the EMF issue in 1997, when the Vancouver school board entered into an agreement with AT&T to put 9 microwave transmitters on the roof of his son's elementary school for their cell phone network. The staff had searched the internet and was raising health concerns about this proposal. Milt became involved as a concerned parent and organized the community to oppose this plan. Applying public pressure, the proposal was defeated.
Soon after, another company donated a cross to the church right next door, and hid their transmitters inside it. Milt again organized the community in opposition, and the transmitters were removed. This
marked the first time that an antenna, once erected, was taken down in North America, and possibly the world. The CBC television's 5th Estate program covered this story in a segment called "The Cone of Silence." This program was copied and sent around the world, and Milt became known and sought after to help other communities.
At the same time, he formed the Electromagnetic Radiation Task Force with like-minded individuals. The Task Force has made submissions to the governments of Canada, the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Israel, France, Austria, Italy, Germany and others. Milt has successfully opposed cell tower installations in over 100 communities in Canada and the U.S., as well as helping others throughout the world. He has done this primarily through negotiation amongst all stakeholders.
He was instrumental in having the Vancouver School Board pass a resolution banning cell towers from schools or within 1,000 feet of school property. He also helped the International Association of Firefighters pass a resolution in 2004, putting a moratorium on any further installations on any fire halls in North America.
Highly respected by government, industry and community activists, Milt is uniquely positioned to expedite optimal, negotiated solutions. His current areas of interest are the deployment of safe telecommunications infrastructures and minimal risk point-of-use instrumentation.
